TED tool

TED is a tool to having an open-ended conversation to build rapport and understanding. It allows you to phrase questions in a neutral way, without assuming that you know how someone is going to answer. This approach doesn’t lead a person in a particular direction with your own biases or expectations. 

Tell: Tell me, how was your day? Tell me, has this happened before?

Explain:  Explain to me, how did this situation begin? Explain to me, what impact did this have on the team?

Describe: Describe how you felt about that. boss. Describe your ideal outcome.
