Vision and Mission

There’s so much confusion on mission vs. vision!  Does it matter?

Well, a thoughtfully crafted mission statement helps your company or group hold on to its core purpose in an ever-changing environment. You knows the reason you exist and can pursue efforts that align with your purpose.

Why do you need a vision? The vision acts as a north star.  The vision is always in service of the mission. It is well defined, targeted, and specific and, unlike a Mission that is usually short and may be publicly touted ( e.g. Pepsi “ a smile with every drink or bite”), Vision statements are future oriented with defined metrics.

Having clear Mission and Vision statements is vital to engaging employees with clarity and purpose to achieving the group goals.
