The Rubber Band Model

It is always better to make a decision for something than against something. But to do that you first need to assess where you are. The Rubber Band model helps you decide between two opposing decisions.
It illustrates being stuck between two rubber bands, both stretched to their limits from either side. One rubber band is holding you from moving away, while the other is trying to pull you close.
For example if you are thinking about leaving your job, think through what is holding you back from leaving it (why would you stay) and what is pulling you toward leaving it (why would you go).
Once you think about the opposing forces, you often find clarity the decision that is right for you. now.
