Performance-Values Matrix

To build a high-performance, world-class culture at GE, then CEO Jack Welch developed a powerful Performance-Values Matrix to insure company growth. The Matrix evaluates people along two vital dimensions: Performance: how well the person drives & achieves key results Values: how well they embody & exemplify the team’s core values. Thinking as an employee it’s important to recognize that an essential requirement for your success is your fit. Your behaviors must be congruent with the character and needs of your company. Even if you are talented you won’t progress if your behaviors are inconsistent with the company values. Reflect on your behavior, regularly solicit feedback from managers, peers and employees. If you love the culture and don't fit, identify areas for improvement. If the culture fit feels like a tight shoe, seek change.
